In the 25th issue of The Pine Bough magazine, readers can enjoy and article featuring The History Center’s oral history collection and its importance to preserving local history, a history of Juneteenth celebration in Diboll and its significance in Texas history, and an overview of women’s history collections at The History Center. Photo albums featuring images from the Angelina County Chamber of Commerce and the National Forests and Grasslands of Texas collections give glimpses into mid-20th century life in the area. Scrapbook albums offer images of Lufkin area CCC camps, Diboll Day parade floats, epidemics in history and the local response, and woman suffrage, among other topics.
