The History Center publishes The Pine Bough, a popular annual East Texas history magazine featuring our growing archival collections.
The Pine Bough - Vol 23, December 2018
In the 23rd issue of The Pine Bough magazine, readers can enjoy articles and photo albums featuring scenes of Diboll in the 1950's-1970's from the Magill and Durham family collections and images from the National Forests and Grasslands collection. Articles also highlight the Esther Pennington Ramsey collection, which follows a Shelby County, East Texas family as it grows and changes during the 20th century, through letters to Esther Ramsey from her family and friends. Staff also updates readers on the progress of the Lufkin Industries collection processing. Additionally, scrapbook pages highlight African American businesses in Angelina County, news from the railroad, Cook family photos, more from local churches, and images of the Diboll Housing Authority, among other topics.
