Interview 24a : Longtime Diboll resident Harold S. Turner recalls his life in White City, Fastrill, and Diboll. Mr. Turner’s father was a company doctor for the Southern Pine Lumber Company camps in White City and Fastrill, where he lived and went to school. At the age of 18, Mr. Turner moved to Diboll and worked as a truck driver. He eventually worked in the power department at the sawmill for 35 years. Mr. Turner also reminisces about life in the Great Depression.
