In recent months, The History Center has hosted several groups of local children as they learned about local history and the purpose of our archives. Groups have inlcluded Hudson's Peavy Primary, Corrigan-Camden's 2nd graders, and campers from Lufkin's Don Boyd Summer Camp. These students tour the Center, learn about local history and archival preservation, and visit Engine 13.
The photos show Don Boyd Campers learning about archival preservation and Diboll's history. In photo 3, Ruben "Jellie" Samuels' granddaughter Naiya Olford poses with his photo in the exhibit room.
The History Center welcomes groups of all ages for free tours. Call 936-829-3543 to make arrangements.
