You are invited to The History Center next Monday evening, October 19, at 5:30 to meet river historian Scot McFarlane as he shares exciting discoveries from his new book, The River That Made Texas: A Forgotten History of the Trinity, published by The University of North Carolina Press.
Scot grew up along the banks of the Trinity and Neches rivers in East Texas and has devoted his career to recovering forgotten stories of American waterways. An historian with a PhD from Columbia University, he brings rigorous research and a personal connection to the places and subjects he writes about.
Scot and Executive Director Jonathan Gerland will lead a discussion about the Trinity and Neches rivers, followed by opportunities to purchase his book and have him autograph it. Softcover books will be available for purchase at $30.
