Spring Tours and Programs at The History Center

The History Center has been busy this spring, hosting tours and sending staff out into the community to present programs to various community groups. In February, the Center hosted a group of Cub Scouts and Lufkin's Dunbar Elementary kindergarteners (photo 1) and staff presented a program at the Spring meeting of the East Texas Historical Association, highlighting the new features of the website. In March, staff hosted tours for a group from the Livingston Montessori School, Florine High School (photo 2), and First Baptist Church Jacksonville, Texas. In April, Timpson High School 9th graders and a group from Chester ISD visited the Center and in May, a group from Diboll's Family Education Center visited (photo 3) while the Director spoke to the Huntington Historical Society and the Lufkin Kiwanis Club.

The History Center Staff is always available to give tours or speak to community groups. Call 936-829-3543 to schedule a tour or talk.
