New Baseball Exhibit

Take Me Out To The Ballgame: Baseball in Angelina County 1900-2012 is now on exhibit at The History Center. With 21 panels of photographs and 5 cases of artifacts, visitors can learn about Angelina County's love of America's pastime.

Whether it was on early sawmill town teams, Little League, high school, college, or professional teams, Angelina County residents have played baseball and cheered for their neighbors of all ages and stages. Photos of early teams like the Diboll Millers and Eagles, Lufkin and Diboll Little League players, and all county high school teams show evidence of a time when hardball was the county's first love. Of special interest is the 1963 Lufkin High School State Championship trophy and several panels that showcase local talent that has made to the big show.
