Celebrate National Letter Writing Month with The History Center by perusing some of our correspondence collections online.
Arthur Temple, Sr. and Arthur Temple, Jr. corresponded regularly about family and business matters from 1946-1951. The son kept these copies as a reference and they are available here for use online.
The History Center holds many collections with wartime correspondence. Some letters between soldiers and family members tell stories about events at home and conditions during training or while fighting. Others inform local mothers about the condition of their sons and after their deaths, offer what comfort they can. Volunteers at a Scottish hospital correspondence with Burtis Lawrence's mother during and after his illness during World War I.
