OFFICE MANAGER / ARCHIVES ASSISTANT

The History Center is seeking a dynamic, highly organized professional able to handle multiple activities at a time to fill its fulltime position of Office Manager/Archives Assistant. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, public service minded, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. The position reports directly to the executive director.

Job responsibilities are divided between office administration, accounting, visitor and researcher assistance, and archives processing. Job duties include, but are not limited to, financial accounting; disbursements and payroll; general office filing and correspondence; maintaining membership and researcher records; coordinating schedules of tours and events; assisting researchers by email, mail, telephone, and in-person; maintaining the Center's periodical and book collections; and assisting other staff with arranging, describing, and digitizing archives, manuscripts, photographs, maps, and oral history interviews.

Preferred qualifications include demonstrated proficiency with Quick Books accounting software, experience working with database and spreadsheet software, and three or more years of experience working professionally with the public in an office, library, or archive.

Rate of pay: $40,000 to $49,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
