100th Anniversary of U.S. Entry to World War I

On April 6, 1917, the United States entered World War I. By the war's end, nearly 5 million American men and women would serve in the armed forces during the war and over 100,000 would die due to military action or disease. The History Center's December 2016 Pine Bough Magazine takes a look at Angelina County's World War I experiences and pays tribute to the 35 local men who gave their lives during the conflict. Copies of the magazine are avaliable for purchase at The History Center or can be downloaded for free as a PDF from this link.
