Charles N. Wilson was an East Texas politician who served in the Texas government from 1961-1972 and the United States House of Representatives from 1972-1996. He is best remembered for securing funding and arms for the Afghan Mujahideen freedom fighters in their fight against the Soviet Union during the 1980s. The Charles N. Wilson Collection consists of photographs, 35mm negatives, plaques, awards, biographical and genealogical material, and election certificates for Texas and the United States congressional positions documenting his political career and focusing on his involvement with Afghanistan.
