The Webber Family Collection consists of nineteenth and twentieth century correspondence, photographs, travel souvenirs and memorabilia, and military records documenting the personal and professional lives of George Webber, his wife Gertrude Temple Webber, and their son W. Temple Webber. George Webber served in the Spanish-American War before marrying Gertrude Temple, daughter of East Texas lumberman Thomas L. L. Temple, and practicing law in Texarkana, Arkansas. Their son W. Temple Webber was employed by Southern Pine Lumber Company in Diboll, Texas, being instrumental in the company’s growth into the Temple-Eastex corporation.
