Demco Manufacturing, Inc. was founded on January 1, 1965, by Charles J. Schmidt. It started out as a small machine shop in Beulah Community named Schmidt’s Precision Machining, before moving to Diboll and becoming incorporated as Demco Manufacturing, Inc. The company specialized in producing plywood veneer machine parts for local and international customers, eventually making three million dollars in sales. In 2016, it was bought by Altec, a manufacturing company based in Canada under Bill Long. This collection contains patents created by Charles J. Schmidt from 1979-1994.
