Established in 1977 after Arthur Temple, Jr. donated land along the banks of Village Creek in Hardin County, the Roy E. Larsen Sandylands Sanctuary protects and preserves 5,654 acres of East Texas’ great natural heritage. This collection contains copies of letters and other correspondence related to the donation of the land and management principles in the late 1970s. Prominent names include Arthur Temple, Jr., Maxine Johnson, Geraldine Waters, Gene Feigelson, and Ray Culter.
