This newspaper has no date printed. It is purportedly printed on the first paper made of southern pine pulp manufactured by Southland Paper Mill in Lufkin, TX. However, according to official sources, the first Lufkin newspaper printed on Lufkin-made paper was printed January 17, 1940. Some of these papers have no dates at all, but context clues within the text indicate they were printed in January 1940. There is also the possibility that this paper, along with the other January 1940 papers, were all printed at one time, in a commemorative issue on January 17, 1940, and the printed date on this one issue was made in error.
