Engine 13, a 68-ton Baldwin 4-6-0 built in 1920 and purchased new for $32,561. Southern Pine Lumber originally desired a heavier 2-8-2 locomotive to haul logs from White City, San Augustine County, to the company's Diboll sawmills via the St. Louis Southwestern Railway (Cotton Belt) right of way. Cotton Belt officials said such a locomotive would be too heavy for the line's trestles between White City and Lufkin. So the 4-6-0 model was purchased instead. Engine 13's last operation was likely in 1964 when it rescued Engine 22 that had derailed in Lufkin. The engine is on display at The History Center, Diboll, TX.
