Zavalla School Number 6

Zavalla Common School District began about 1900. The first school was built of lumber and had two rooms. In the 1920’s the community built a two-story brick building and added a new high school building in 1925. In 1919 it was classified as a two year high school, but had grown to a four year high school by 1930. In 1952, Zavalla became an independent district.
