Mount Sacred Heart Military Boys School was some 300 miles from Winnie, Texas. It was located in the country outside of San Antontio, Texas. Dorothy attended Our Lady of the Lake School in San Antonio.

James Stephen "Steve" Kole Jr. was in second grade and in military uniform. Lawrence was in first grade and is dressed in white due to first communion.
