Members of Diboll's fire department demonstrate the use of foamite spray to extinguish fires in 1947. According to the August 1947 Buzz Saw, the Fire Department was organizedin 1937 to protect the mills, plants, and town against fire. All 14 volunteer firemen had attended firefighting school at Texas A&M and were trained to extinguish many types of fire. The equipment was said to be modern and inspected regularly, and the department conducted drills twice a month to ensure they were ready to protect Diboll from fire.
