Pineland on Parade Tree Exchange, 1958

During ceremonies for the first Pineland on Parade, on July 4, 1958, Diboll and Pineland officials exchanged trees. Diboll's offering of a shorleafe pine tree was planted on the grounds of Pineland's mill (the planer shed is visible in the background)The helicopter (the rotars are barely visible to the right of the image) was used to deliver the pine tree and Diboll dignitaries. Making the exchange are, from left to right, Aubrey Cannon (Diboll Booster Club member), Calvin Lawrence (Diboll Booster Club President), Latane Temple, Bill Nichols (Pineland Service Club President), and Edward McFarland (Angelina County Judge)
