Interview 23a : In an interview with Becky Bailey, Hazel Turner reminisces about her life as a young woman in Diboll during the Depression. After graduating from Diboll High School in 1926, Mrs. Turner attended business school and began her career as a secretary. After spending time in Houston, she was hired by Southern Pine Lumber Company, where she worked as one of three women in the office during the Depression. She discusses work habits and pay procedures.
