Vault One Shelf Conversion Completed

In an effort to ensure that we can continue to collect, preserve, and make the history of our area available for many years to come, The History Center has just completed converting our static vault shelving into mobile shelving. We began and completed the conversion of Vault One in August, increasing our storage capacity in Vault One from 3500 cubic feet to over 6000 cubic feet.

The top photo at right shows the new Vault One mobile shelving with collections placed in their new locations, ready for use. The middle photo shows the temporary shelving in Vault Two used to house the collections during the conversion process, and the third photo shows Vault One during the conversion process.

We thank you for your cooperation during the conversion process. Staff at The History Center is excited about the new shelf configuration and the opportunities it gives us to continue collecting, preserving, and making available the history of Diboll and Angelina County.
