Jack Warner Donates Baseball

On October 16, Diboll native Jack Warner donated to The History Center this baseball, which Pete Runnels hit to win a 1947 baseball game between the Diboll Millers and Stephen F. Austin State University. Runnels' hit won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning, as the MIllers beat the Jacks 9-8. Warner pitched all 13 innings of that game. He later inscribed all of the team player’s names on the ball.
