Call Ahead to Access Archival Materials Due To Vault Shelving Reconfiguration

Jul 26, 2010

In an effort to ensure that we will be able to continue to collect, preserve, and make the history of our area available for many years to come, The History Center is converting our static vault shelving into mobile shelving, which will greatly increase our storage capacity. The conversion process is expected to take four weeks beginning on August 3rd. During this time, it will be difficult to access some of our collections and many may not be immediately accessible. The History Center and reading room will NOT be closed, but we ask researchers to please call ahead if they would like to use any archival materials. Advance notice will help staff to help our researchers and will save our researchers time. We thank you for your cooperation. Staff at The History Center is excited about the new shelf reconfiguration and the opportunities it gives us to continue collecting, preserving, and making available the history of Diboll and Angelina County.

Please contact The History Center at 936-829-3543 or through our website http://www.TheHistoryCenterOnline.com before your visit to ensure that your collections are available.
