Jackie Zimmerman is a Lufkin native and current publisher of The Lufkin Daily News, a position she’s held since 2020. Prior to working as the publisher, she spent time in the public relations department at Lufkin Industries. Founded in Lufkin in 1902 as the Lufkin Foundry and Machine Company, Lufkin Industries manufactured sawmill, railroad, and eventually, oil pumping parts and equipment. This collection contains a variety of records related to Jackie Zimmerman and her work in the publicity department of Lufkin Industries prior to its sale to General Electric in 2013. There are newspapers dating back to the 1920s, catalogs and photos dating back to the early 20th century, and documents related to her work at Lufkin Industries.
