Charles Newton Temple Jr. was born on November 30, 1921 to Charles Newton (1888-1955) and Mary Elizabeth Temple (1893-1959) in Arkansas. He had one brother, John William Temple (1929-2009). Charles attended Arkansas High School, graduating on June 2, 1939, then continued his education at Southern Methodist University in the early 1940s, serving as a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After school, he settled in Texarkana, Texas, for the remainder of his life.
Charles was a lawyer by profession, working with Texarkana Title & Abstract Company Inc.; as well as serving as an attorney in legal cases, such as Bill Johnson vs State of S.M.U. He also pursed a keen interest in music, becoming a well-known pianist and organist in Texarkana. He died on January 16, 1992.
