"The crowning glory of Diboll will soon be a magnificent library building."
- American Lumberman, January 18, 1908.
Much has changed since this pronouncement appeared nearly a century ago in a popular
Chicago trade magazine. In 1908 a library in a Texas sawmill company town was news
indeed. Yet news of Diboll offering new and exciting educational opportunities through
the community library did not end there.
