Summer Camps Visit The History Center

Summer at The History Center has been busy! In addition to the local families that include us in their summer activity plans and travelers stopping in as they make their way through Diboll, we have had several local summer camps come for tours in June and July. On June 22, Diboll Housing Authority brough 25 children for a tour as part of their summer program. On June 24, the Don Boyd Summer Camp brough 60 7-10 year olds and on July 1 they brought 40 11-14 year olds. This past week, The History Center hosted 12 students and adults from the Lots of Love Daycare in Lufkin. Students in all groups enjoyed a tour of the exhibit room, learned about preservation and archival research in the reading room and vault, and experienced the outdoor train exhibit.

The History Center is always happy to host groups for a tour, which usually lasts about an hour and can be tailored to your group's age and subject interest. Please call in advance to schedule your tour.
