In 2007, Oneta Hendricks donated several digital images of the Connor family, including two photographs of Burke native Corbett Connor during his service as a member of the American Expeditionary Forces in France during World War I.

Corbett Connor of Burke, Texas is number 7 on this photographic postcard (Carte Postale) labeled "Photographie Militaire 139, Rue du Hautoir. Bordeaux."  He enlisted on September 6, 1918 in Beaumont, Texas and departed for France on November 11, 1918.  He left France for the United States on November 8, 1919 and was discharged from the Army on October 1, 1919 at Camp Travis, Texas.
